ALTHOUGH THERE ARE TIMES WHEN I JUST NEED THAT GOOD OL' FARM HOUSE EVENING OF SWEET CANDLE GLOW AND YUMMY BREAD IN THE OVEN...I ENJOY ADVENTURE, AS I AM SO SURE YOU ALL DO...EVERY ONES LIFE IT SO BUSY...I JUST LIKE TO CHOOSE MORE OF THE FUN THINGS!

DO YOU REALY DRESS 40'S & 50'S DAILY? WHY YES !!!! DAILY...I LOVE THE FUN DRESSES AND WONDERFUL JEWELRY... ITS SO CUTE!

ALTHOUGH IN THE WINTER... I JUST DON'T KNOW HOW LUCY DID IT...ITS SO COLD...SO THAT'S WERE I FIND FUN IN ROCKABILLY DRESSING...I WEAR CUFFED JEANS CUTE 40'S PENDLETON JACKETS, SWEET BUTTON UP SWEATERS WITH VINTAGE SWEATER CLIPS, AND LOTS OF LEOPARD!! AS SEEN HERE AT THE FALL CAR SHOW IN TEMECULA.

I HAVE BEEN KNOWN TO THROW ON A PAIR OF JEANS UNDER A OL' FARM DRESS AFTER SEEING IT IN A 1952 TIME LIFE MAGAZINE ADD... HOW DID LIL' GIRLS PLAY OUTSIDE IN THEIR PRETTY DRESSES...WELL MAMA'S WOULD SLIP ON A OLD PAIR OF JEANS WITH THEIR DRESSES AND THEY COULD PLAY BASEBALL TOO...I THOUGHT IT WAS VERY PRACTICAL& I LOVE IT SO COMFY! I ALSO THROW ON COLORED CONVERSE...DADDY-O AND I OWN MANY, MANY PAIRS...THEY ARE FUN 50'S & GREAT AT SOCCER GAMES, FLEA MARKETS,CAMPING, AND FOOTBALL...I EVEN OWN UCLA BLUE FOR THE GAMES & A PINK PAIR FOR MY PINK LIL' TRAILER...hee hee...ROCKABILLY IS FAR MORE FUN...MATCHING THE OLD WITH THE NEW...KINDA COOL!

THIS IS MY SCARY CLOSET...THIS SECTION IS ONLY 40'S AND 50'S DRESSES...PROBABLY A HUNDRED DRESSES! MY CLOSET ACTUALLY BROKE CRASHING TO THE GROUND!{ I CAN'T BELIEVE I'M AIRING OUT MY DIRTY CLOSET..HA HA NO SKELETONS!
MY VINTAGE SHOES...THIS IS JUST PART OF #22 PAIRS...I ALSO HAVE A REGULAR SHOE & PURSE CLOSET AND WEIRD...A FLIP FLOP CLOSET WITH MY VACUUM...SILLY IT JUST HAPPENED THAT WAY.

OOOH MY NO! ALTHOUGH I LOVE TO PRETEND THAT I AM... WITH TELLIN' MY AMAZING BEAUTICIAN WHAT TO DO AND HOW TO DO IT...MISS SASSY MARY IS THE MOST AMAZING HAIR DRESSER EVER! SHE ALWAYS KNOWS I'M GONNA CHANGE SOMETHIN'...AND SHE IS SO COMFORTABLE WITH IT... SHE'LL TRY ANYTHING! Saltwater sandals & A Daily outfit too!

hey kittens...i am so excited to share one favorite goodie of mine & i'll throw in a daily outfit too...

so this is my daily outfit...a yummy pink and blue rose 1950's sundress...metal zipper back and the sweetest pockets...i wore a 1950's blue flowered necklace & bracelet that i bought in Viva last year & my sweet lil' girl white sandals...

sweet sweet pockets...and bracelet...this set came with a matching sweater clip as well...a great set to find! I snatched it up so darn fast!

so now...the Sandals...oh i love these!

these sandals are one of my favorite finds evah! Aren't they sweet...I found these when my oldest was only 1 year old...boo hoo 17 years ago.i have had my girls wear these lil' adorable sandals their whole lives and i swear by them!

They are Saltwater sandals a 60+ year sandal by the HOY company...a company that has been making these adorable sandals since 1940! A true vintage sandal that you can have today!

As you know During World War II there was a leather shortage! And one wonderful man who worked for the military making boots...decided to use the ol' scraps from the soldiers boots to make kids sandals. And the Salt water sandal was born & has been made the same ever since! They fit any foot..wide and narrow...just pull the leather with your thumbs and wallah...they fit just right!

Salt water sandals are a strong leather,rust resistant buckles,& made to be worn in the water! yep in the water!

they are so amazingly durable for kids...and the vintage history are the purrrrrfect addition to a lot of my vintage dresses...my red pair are my favorite!

i get so many compliments on them with my vintage dresses and they are so comfy! They come in lots of colors...and look great with cuffed jeans & sweaters! I usually love them in summer for flea markets and totally wear them when i ride my pink bike...

so this is the pair my eyes are on...soft pink & very sweet! Now i gotta find a new dress...of coarse! :) hope you like these adorable sandals...thanks for swingin' by kittens have a rocken' week! Cat~

this adorable late 40's early 50's "Swirl" wrap dress in black and white gingham check...sweet lil wrap and bow tied, yummy pockets, with the sweetest neckline...take a look...

I love it...i paired it with red...& one of my very first vintage pieces i ever bought. A cherry Bakelite necklace...i paid way too much for!...but had to have it! Its from an antique store in Pasadena...

Who goes to Home Depot on Mother's Day? I do!

I went to Home Depot on Mother's day! What Cat? Who goes to home depot on mothers day...yup you got it...Daddy-o gets to tell all the guys he took me to home depot on mother's day...hee hee...he thinks its soooo funny!

Really I had a wonderful day...i had an amazing lunch, Went antique shoppin'...and yes girls Home Depot!



Hee hee i actually asked to go...and boy oh boy i was so surprised to see just how many ladies were there on Mother's day...You see Daddy-o took me and bought me some new lights for my kitchen...and yup hung um' up with no complaint(even dimmers) yehaw! And yes He thinks hes so smug...hmmmm who the last one laughing now...I got something done i have been wanting done for months...with NO complaint!....hee hee...love it!

Now a lil' daily outfit...

ahh...now my daily outfit...and super comfy vintage wrap dress in black with the sweetest scallop neck and pockets...you' gals know how I adore a wrap dress and being' comfy and black...oh honey pure joy...a comfy lil' black dress...bliss! I paired it with my sweet lil' remix platform sandals...purrrrrrfect for antique shoppin'...

Next let me just say it...ekkkkkkkkkkkkkk...i think i just got my new favorite dress! yes gals...i love love love wrap dresses...but honey throw in a lil' novelty like Fruit, bows, Flowers, or lil' cute-sy "thing-ys" like poodles...and gals it sends me over the edge!

Woooo Hooooo! Vintage shoppin' & a Daily Outfit too!

Hey sassy kittens! Wooooo Hoooooo! I had such a blast this weekend! ...the sun was out and i hit the open out doors with a very sweet lil' vintage zipper front strawberry pickin' house dress! Ah what sweet goodness...i just go crazy for fruit on a vintage dress!

My task at hand while i picked my dress for that day was...hit the farmers market for ummm can you guess fresh strawberries...and a few lil' vintage shops downtown...So gals...lets have some fun...take a peek at some vintage goodies...

first miss sweet...baby chick who is going off to college...collects many era's of painted metal flower pins...she pins them on pillows in her room and often wears them with lil' sweet sweaters...they make her so happy...we bought the red white and blue one....hmmm i see her wearin' it for the 4th of july

next some diggin through many racks of vintage clothes...i love this shop because they are all hung very neatly...

60's sparkle shoes...ahhhhh like diamonds for your feet

that is one thing this shop has so much of the 60's...which is my college cuties best fittin' era...the straight shift dresses and thick healed shoes...she often makes me think of Jackie O...when she dresses in 60's!

Next a lil' fur action...lots of vintage coats...

Next...miss sugar pie jumped for joy at this find...look at this regal buffet coffee maker...she collects 60's dishes in that 60's orange & avocado green...this goodie was $6.00...wow!

oh kittens...Fun Fact Friday#8 & a Daily outfit too!

Hey there all you kittens! Cat here with my Fun Fact Friday...and oooh honey a Daily outfit too! I am in such a quarky mood gals with this crazy zany day i've had and i wanted to totally find a fun fact that fits my mood...so what better than...Peanut butter!

Ok gals did you know that yummy lil food could do so much? What a hoot...take a lil' smidge and clean that scratched CD...yep wipe it on and clean it off with a coffee filter and wallah...magically clean! Next...wanna clean up those poor baby doll faces that nothing seems to remove that ink mark from...yep...spread a lil' on..wipe off & baby it is as good as new!...Now for my last lil' tid bit...those ol' pesty labels off of glass goods...oh honey you know the drill...spread a lil' peanut butter on them...& woooo weeeeee! Now kittens that's some good eats!

ok so i said a daily outfit post too...well take a peek...

Ok gals this kitten has had one of those days...miss Mabel and Mr Jud are crackin' up & jigglin' that belly ...and oooh this is how i feel...when you have a zany day like i had...you just gotta chuckle...all the while lookin' sweet in a farm dress...take a peek...

This is me this mornin' in my 30's farm dress...my idea was great for all i had to do...errands...tax day...soccer...dinner...ahhhhhhhhh a hustle and bustle day... super comfy...super cool...super sweet...

Well...................

Its was cold outside!!!!...nooooooo....spring is here...why oh why is it going to rain outside...so i put on a black sweater...and thought i'm gonna try this again...ahhhhhh nope! Not only is it cold but you forgot you have soccer this afternoon...in the wind...in the wet...in the grass...sigh*****

this is what that sweet lil' farm dress ended up as I remembered the way those 1950's mama's would send their darlin' daughters out to play ball with the neighbors! Yep in their sweet lil' dresses & their ol' ratty blue jeans ...and as you can see some very loved chucks... hmmmmm...what a day! You've just gotta roll with it...you know that's me! ha ha...

Oh a Daily Outfit...

hey kittens! wow has this week gotten away from this gal...i have been cleanin' out my over stuffed closet and decidin' if i should sell some of my vintage dresses that i haven't worn in years...I am all about getting them out there to be loved & worn...but as i did so...this is what happened...

...i began to talk to my dear sweet lil' dresses..."ooooh there you are...I haven't seen you in awhile!" Adorable rick-rack that makes this kitten squeeeeel! I love rick-rack! It is worn with a old black sweater thrifted and my adorable 40's Remix play shoes...and red Bakelite earrings from vintage antique mall in orange county...orange circle! OH Go there its wonderful!!!!

The Vintage Housewife...oh honey A Daily Outfit!

hey gals! Cat here with a long over due Daily outfit post...YES i know! thank you kittens for your emails, comments and your interest in this here silly lil' blog...you gals rock! i love each comment and email...thank you all!

So now this adorable 1940's black and white dream...sweet lil' shirt waist dress with black plastic rhinestone buttons & the best red dots ever! This adorable dress was a ebay buy...new with tags and very very old...i think this dress might be the oldest dress i own...even though it was never worn before its fabric is in delicate shape so it is a very special dress...not for running errands kittens!
Amazing pockets with scallops of red fabric...it is a beautiful dress!

a wonderful print as you can see...I have been saving it for Viva this year & I love it! Now on to my shoes...my favorites...50's Vintage wedgies! These adorable shoes are straw and leather...and the vintage gals who wore these before me broke them in sooooooo well...it's like they were made for my toes...They are even more comfortable than my remix shoes...purrrrrrrfect for dancing! Ebay steal! One of those omg...i won them!!!! yahoo!
