Oh... roar kittens! I've gotta pack quick

Hey there kittens! first of all isn't this the most wonderful photo evah!!! I love it ! Now on serious note...i haven't begun to pack for Viva yet...what???!!! I have been so busy that i am runnin' out of time...I can't imagine not puttin' my adorable outfits together...at this point i haven't a clue on what i am bringin' at all...yesterday I batted my eyes to Daddy-o & said...well I'll just have to bring it all! tee hee ;)

Now for this...although I haven't packed I'm still on the hunt! You gals know how I am in love with the amazing Olga nightgowns...you know how they flatter every gal!!! If not check out my olga challenge post...Well I scored this dream in leopard my very very favorite print besides gingham!!!! yay me

I have only seen 1 other Olga in leopard in my many years of vintage wearin'...i missed out on 1 about 5 years ago...but I'm always on the look out...Well I scored!!!! I found one just for me!!! yippy and just in time for Viva! Thanks for swingin' by... for crunch time...wish me luck! Cat~

ANSWERS! Answers i've got some Answers! part 1

Re post #4...wow more about me? Hey you asked for it! hee hee hey you rocken' kittens...I've got some answers to the first 5 of the questions...i thought i would group them...then i thought i wanna answer each doll...and thank them for the questions...so here goes...

Miss Craftyphoenix asks...have you and hubby always lived vintage? I adore your style...well sweet thing sadly no...though very early on we found our vintage groove! You see even in high school i would wear vintage purses with everything i loved the vintage box styled bag & soon after Daddy-o & i were married(right after high school yup high school sweethearts!) We found that he loved vintage cars& tinkerin' with them...though we thought we would never have one! We have had a few now!

Early on in our marriage Vintage just seemed to fit us so well...i loved the ol' 40's farm housewife...and he the awesome cars...antique shoppin' and ol' western rockabilly music of the 30's 40's & 50's...so vintage just captured us! I think because we share the love of that simpler time it has bonded us in this awesome lifestyle, the ol' values with raising our lil' chicks, & in the past few years the newness of swing dancing & jiving! Which we go out a do every Friday!

Gary-Barb asks...I have two questions: Where do you buy your wonderful wrap dresses and What was the process of renovating your precious trailer? I love the dresses and adore the trailer.

well darlin the trailer was a blast...i loved every moment of it...

my sweet lil' cupcake 53' field and stream needed so much work...but as my hubby knows so well...i want it done now!!! So every night he would come home and work on it...my lil' chicks as well...we gutted the inside, leaving only the main things, sanded everything including the outside, we re-skinned many sections that had water damage,took out the windows and re sealed them, painted inside and out...and redid the closet shelving...

now daddy-o...well he did all the brakes and electrical...you know the lil' stuff! hee hee and me well...i got to decoratin' and collecting... Now you ready kittens for the kicker...it was all done within'...8 weeks...yup i had a trip with my girl group and i wanted to go...so we got right to it...i have many picture of the process...just click on anything trailer related in my labels & take a peek!!

next part of the question is about my wrap dresses...well gals i just love'em! As i am noticing you all do as well! honestly i find them everywhere and anywhere i can...i am always on the hunt for these!!!! They seem to flatter me and are so rooten' tooten comfy!! & Cute as pie!!!!

I started with apron dresses from the 40's and soon found the company Swirl ! The amazing housewife daily dress that actually you'll find Ethel Mertz wore in many I love Lucy episodes! So to be honest i adore the Ethel dress...i actually am a lot like Lucy as all my girlfriends say...but she dressed too dressy being a band leaders wife...i am more of an ol Ethel in my style!

When do i hunt?...well once i had the swirl brand in my sights...i was a crazy woman on the hunt...well i've hunted for the past 13 years! And Really honestly kittens i will take any adorable wrap dress!!! Any shape i love them!!

The easiest place to find them is Ebay i punch in the search...vintage wrap dress...40's wrap dress, 50's wrap dress, Swirl, and even vintage wrap aprons...i narrow the search by size as well l xl xxl . I do flea markets and vintage clothing stores...the Internet has many vintage shops including Etsy , but i don't have the time...so a good ol' flea market does the trick...I have had a lot of great finds! But i think thats part of the love of vintage the hunt!! Hope this helps your hunt! Just don't outbid me!!!!!!!

Kris from Eastern or...asks..I love your blog! I know you love your hairdresser, but could you give us gals some tips for retro styled hair? Do you use hot rollers every day?

well sweet doll thank you ...i do love hair...i try so many things i think thats what brings 40's & 50's vintage into today...old with the new! I place flowers in my hair & even collect vintage hair clips...which is one of my favorite accessories evah!!! Although when i go out or go dancing i do wear my hair in very vintage styles that take a lot of work like pin curls or rolls.

Now daily gals...i wear a simple hot roller rolled style, piggy tails,or a simple curled bob with Bakelite clips or wonderful flowers...it is real and every day...my style is more of a soft real housewife hair style & yes i usually place large hot rollers in my hair...the best advice for you is to look at real photos from the 40's or life magazines and add your own twist so that its for your every day...not just a special occasion...and gals always sass it up with a cute lil' flower or clip. As always kittens...whatever you do rock the real you!!!

Miss Picklebugmuffinsmommy asks...Do you work outside the home? Do you have children?

Well i don't work outside the home anymore although i have...Daddy-o and i really wanted me to be available to my children...i have done all the mommy duties...I have been so blessed to have a wonderful relationship with my lil' chicks and know they are wonderful upstanding women...i know me being home for them was such a huge part of their life and has been the reason that they would rather be home than anywhere! That is gold to a mom.

I have two lil' chicks one is now graduating & going off to college & the other is a new teen. They adore each other and spend more time with me than their friends so I think that is a great outcome for a stay at home mom. I have kept them very busy...and am blessed they are very confident even with the issues of size, style, & other girly issues that can plaque a young girl in these days.

I AM BLESSED TO BEEN ABLE TO BE AT HOME WITH MY LIL' CHICKS!

Coedith asks... oh i am always the one to ask questions people think i shouldn't! so here goes...i'd love to hear about your faith. (ya know they say steer clear of talking politics and religion...so not Religion...just your faith...

OOOOOH i love this question...this picture on my blog says it! (on my side bar)...i delight myself in the Lord!!! I do I do! I know how much my God loves me and i wanna show it with joy! I have much faith and believe my life is his!

Thats why i started this blog...my gals persuaded me to show the joy of a life who loves the Lord! I feel good about myself, my style, My size and know that my confidence is from God.

One day a guy from a newspaper stopped me in my Lucy car...he saw i had a Jesus tag on a cool vintage car...then asked how a tattooed, rockabilly, 50's gal could own a vintage car, dress like me and love the Lord?!

I simply shared my joy of the 50's & life...and said God loves cool people too!!!!

You can have a rocken' style, have a lot of fun, and love Jesus too! ...funny huh?! he ended up putting it in the newspaper...kinda cool!

can you believe it, look at these...cute lil' pink boxes...full of pantyliners,tampons, and pads...aren't they sweet...and ooh la la girly...this company has it...the glam idea that ladies need to feel pretty...well kittens i love this stuff...and as Moxie puts it ,spoil yourself , we no longer have to have tampons under wraps...why can't we get this on our shelves here in the states?

Oh honey...Whats in YOUR Drawers!!!

yes kittens whats in your Drawers?!!...tee hee...not those drawers...but the cluttered goodies at home...miss 1950's atomic ranch house had the cutest darn idea...showin' whats in your drawers...so all the interested, the nosey', & just the plain ol' snoopy kittens could take a peek...that was somethin' right up my alley...so take a peek...Warning...no drawers were cleaned or cutsy'ed up in this process!

ok first...my pen drawer...happy i just did this one during the holidays...why cuz i was sick of everyone askin for a pen and tape while wrappin presents! ha-this is my card stash drawer...this makes me happy very easy cards on hand!next this is suppose to be my vintage jewelry drawer...hmmmm...needs help! Where are all my goods...thrown in other drawers i guess...ha ha hamy belt and ribbon drawer...sometimes my vintage farm dresses are missing their belts so ribbon in many array of colors, need to be on hand...just like miss vavoom vintage places goods in ol' train cases...i use them so... so often ! this is my eyeshadow train case! next my vanity...full of jewels & clips...its my every day go to drawer...now the bottom is for my lil' soccer chick...where her many many colors of pre wrap is stored ...its used for her hair to be out of her face while playing soccer...hey you gotta have every color!now this drawer is the me drawer...my family and friends have teased me for years...yes i am Cat and i have a napkin drawer...is their a support group for this?this is a scary drawer...don't know what they belong to or whos they are? But we have a drawer full of them...just in case you need one...hee heeI am a fish...i love water and i swim every day in the summer...so naturally i would have bathing suit drawers...this is two of...5now last this is my favorite drawer...cuz its my junk drawer...i throw every thing in it...full of jewels,sweater clips, hair flowers, belts, glasses, i even had a vintage dress thrown in it...boy i need to clean some drawers! I wanna be a Venomous Villain!

Hello My Deary's...wooooohhhaaaaaaaaH! Oh how it has been awhile...but i couldn't wait to share how i wanna be a Venomous Villain! But alas i seem to be a poor unfortunate soul!!!!

I just found out about the new line from Mac...Called Venomous Villains! All with adorable names like dark deed, strange potion, bite of an apple, & toxic tale. My lil' chicks and I love Disneyland and all it's magic...but i have a lil' secret...I have always wanted to be... A Villain~ness!

So of coarse i ran to get some of this amazing line of cosmetics...but alas...Sold out!!!! I am a poor unfortunate soul...(sigh)


being that i wanna be a villain...like miss Maleficent...i'm on the hunt...for this...so even though they say there is no way to get it...i will use my evil villain power to find this...

Miss Cruella de Ville...in amazing ruby reds called wicked ways & heartless...ooooh i want i want...

Hey sassy gals! Cat here with a challenge!!! Yes an Olga challenge...well lets see here ladies...This is the amazing Olga San Juan...a 1940's actress with all the right curves & moves... I just adore her and her name so fit into something else i just adore...OLGA'S!!!

Yes these Olga's! The amazing Vintage Olga nightgowns of yester years... Do you know about these gals??? Well let this kitten give you the scoop...You see this is it...the fool proof Olga nightie...this is by far the most flattering nightgown in history! And kittens i have 9 of them...why you ask?...take a peek...

You see gals Vintage Olga night gowns will fit almost any size...Really they do! & you will look sooooooooo good!! They are made of spandex and are amazingly comfy, cool, and dare i say it a lil' sexy kittens!

There have been many styles through out the years. Some of my favorite styles are from the 40's & 60's...each Olga has a style number on the tag & has a different pattern to the lace layout...some a lil showy & others very elegant and tasteful! Find your favorite style number...or like me...just love' em all ! I collect all different colors...& find them everywhere you just gotta know what to look for. The trick to the Olga...the spandex...and that they all have a back like this which gives much support for the chest and even the largest of chests don't need a bra...it's magic!

So gals...the challenge...get yourself an Vintage Olga nightgown! You won't be sorry...you will LOVE the way you look no matter what size you are!
