Fun Fact Friday...

Hey kittens i thought i would do another Fun Fact Friday...this one i have soooo used...smelly sink...yuck...try runnin' very hot water down the drain...doesn't work...place 2 tsp. of baking soda in the drain...allow it to remain for a bit...then run more hot water...If it fails & still is smelly... place 1 cup vinegar & let stand for 20 minutes...that should do the trick! To keep it fresh right before company...i dice up a small lime or lemon...throw it down the drain switch the disposal on...& oh the smell is divine! A Vintage Housewife first! Can i call it an Adventure?

Hey'a kittens hope your week was wonderful! I have had quit a few exciting things go on...first like all adventures in my book you gotta just go for it!

So...Well this new adventure is very unfamiliar to me. I always try and have a vintage warm home...dinners as a family, stories & games before bed and lots of cuddle time...I appreciate the simple times when families did that...I even had Daddy-o make me a clothes line so i could be a rooten' tooten laundry hangin' honey...which I adore...

I try to watch and control this fast pace life & fill it with wholesome things of yester year...my appreciation of good ol family time...simple...close...& appreciation...The way i think my vintage housewife home should be...well...its all gettin turned upside down...for this... Coupons!!! yup...I have never coupon-ed...It never has crossed my mind until i watched the TLC show Extreme Couponing this past week ...I was amazed at these women who make a mission to provide for their families...I was freakin' shocked!

Yes, I was inspired, curious, & honestly giddy at the fact that coupons are amazing! Well I found that the new Target adds will look like this above...ok what kitten couldn't coupon with this adorable add...so hey I thought i would give it a try...wish me luck cuz gals...I don't know what I'm doin' ;0)

So i checked a few websites..on how to do it...With all the excitement i am feelin' I thought what a good thing...what a fulfilled mama I would be to stock pile for my family?

Well gals I need advice...do you coupon...do you watch this show...are you as amazed as I am?

...is this the missing link to my love of being the Vintage Housewife?...I wear vintage clothes...adore my vintage car& camper...junk & flea market...raise my baby chicks in a vintage family style...now can I provide a secure stock like Mrs. Suzy above is in todays age...through coupons??

Fun! Facts! & its Friday outfit post! # 14

hey gals!!! i thought to do an all in one post Fun Facts & its Friday post...so here goes...first a daily outfit...awww this amazing dress from ebay that i posted about came...yippy i love it...it was so darn cute and comfy...zipper front sweet ric-rac...and the sweetest lil' white flowers on top...it fit so well like it was made for me. It's a keeper!

Next this week i sent my baby chic off to college...on our way we found this...the taco station...we loved it...the best darn taco's evah! Adorable station decor...

getting ready to meetup with her college at the University...college of engineering! Her major is bio-mecial engineering...wow what a hard road ahead...we are so proud!

NOW MOVE IN...& A FUNNY STORY...

next...walking into her dorm for the first time....eeeeekkkkkk!!!! We decorated it so cute...then a few hours later they had her move floors...ahhhh...what a funny moment...she was throwing things in the boxes unlike the careful care we spent folding everything all week! She was on the move again...what a story! =0)

next lets throw in a fun fact Friday...Summertime style...for that green pool hair...make a solution of 1/2 cup of baking soda & 1 cup lemon juice.

Wet your hair and pour the solution over it immediately as it bubbles up! rinse and wallah! Anyone who tries it...let me know if it works...

The Vintage Housewife Fun Fact Friday # 13

hey kittens since i have been away i thought to make it up with a fun fact Friday!

Did you know that Vinegar is the power helper of all time...well i did sort of...but check these tips out...

Weed Killer? yep...pour it on weeds in the side walk cracks and wallah...they die!

Pest Killer? woowee lil' doggy...yes add 1tsp. of cider vinegar to every qt. of water. Spritz them down...fleas and pests won't go near them!

Drain Cleaner? drop 3 alka-seltzers down the drain, then pour a bottle of white vinegar down...after 3 minutes run hot water!

Great Mashed Potato trick?????...yep after you beat them up & add the warm milk...try adding a tsp. of vinegar and beat a lil' bit more...it will fluff them up and they will hold their shape! who knew!!!

Back to Fun Fact Friday! # 12

heya' kittens i've got a great fact that i just tried...after shaving my legs i got blood on my brand new white quilt...i was so mad...well i quickly grabbed the hydrogen peroxide and poured it straight on...let it sit...then poured a lil' more...after 2 hours...the blood was gone wallah! It worked like magic !

thanks to all you kittens who have left such darlin' comments about my lil' chick...its been a fun whirl wind..now I am starting to see summer is here...the temperature is gonna be 100 this weekend...so a lot of laying by the pool is in my future! And maybe a lil vintage shopping...wooo hooo Summer is here! Have a rocken' weekend...Cat

Happy Mothers Day & Fun Fact Friday # 11 too!

Hey kittens Happy Mother's Day gals...i'm wishing you a rocken' mothers day and wantin' you gals to sass it up! Rock the sweet and sassy you-s...and shine gals shine!! Why ...cuz kittens it's all over on Monday...so enjoy!!! hee hee

Now for Fun Fact Friday...i wanted to give you a few lil' facts that are just a hoot...i'm not sure you'd try-em'...but it might be fun...

~stinky-feet...my oh my...take those lil' stinkers and place them in a bowl of jello!

~got a splinter...oh honey put a lil' Elmer's glue on it...dry & pull...

~wanna dry your nails fast...spray with Pam cooking spray!

~here we go with Elmer's glue again...put a thin layer over your face...let dry and peel...this will remove any dry skin&,black heads...hmmm who knew!

The Vintage Housewife...Fun Fact Friday #10

Hey there sassy kittens...another Fun Fact Friday...so here goes...its all about stains...yup those rooten' tooten' dirty stains and kittens how to make your life easier getting those pesky things out!

I know you lil' ladies probably have a lot of tricks ...but take a peek at these...



~ Wine stain...well gals pour a lil' Morton's salt on top & it will absorb the wine.

~ Need a all purpose stain lifter...use a lil' Colgate tooth paste...paste kind

~ Try a lil' Kyro syrup on those pesky grass stains...

~ A lil coca-cola on a driveway to get rid of those grease stains {let sit overnight}

~ Wax stain place a paper towel and iron the stain it lifts it to the towel...{repeat with new fresh towel}

~ Crayon on a wall? try that OL' trusty Colgate paste and brush!

~ Ballpoint ink can be removed by rubbing alcohol...this works!!!



Well there you have it gals a few lil' tricks up your sleeve to fight the stains...keep it rocken'...thanks for swingin' by for some stain fightin'...Cat~

The Vintage Housewife..Fun Fact Friday # 9

Howdy darlins....happy Friday...i just love this fun fact Friday post...this is so egg-tastic! I have always had trouble with eggs...now i have the facts so let this gal share...ok have you ever cracked open an boiled egg and it is undercooked...OH HOney, I have! Want a trick...place the egg in aluminum foil,twirl the ends and place it back in the water...wallah...now it can finish cooking! love it...

Some more...Egg facts...rub lemon on the shell of an egg before placing in boiling water to keep from cracking.

Did you know...if you just Add a lil' salt to the water it will toughen the shell and make it easier to remove.

Now my very favorite fact...if your going to make deviled eggs...place the carton of eggs on its side the night before...the yolks will remain centered while they are cooking...hmmm who knew! thanks for swingin' by...for some egg-tastic facts... have a rocken' weekend! Cat~

oh kittens...Fun Fact Friday#8 & a Daily outfit too!

Hey there all you kittens! Cat here with my Fun Fact Friday...and oooh honey a Daily outfit too! I am in such a quarky mood gals with this crazy zany day i've had and i wanted to totally find a fun fact that fits my mood...so what better than...Peanut butter!

Ok gals did you know that yummy lil food could do so much? What a hoot...take a lil' smidge and clean that scratched CD...yep wipe it on and clean it off with a coffee filter and wallah...magically clean! Next...wanna clean up those poor baby doll faces that nothing seems to remove that ink mark from...yep...spread a lil' on..wipe off & baby it is as good as new!...Now for my last lil' tid bit...those ol' pesty labels off of glass goods...oh honey you know the drill...spread a lil' peanut butter on them...& woooo weeeeee! Now kittens that's some good eats!

ok so i said a daily outfit post too...well take a peek...

Ok gals this kitten has had one of those days...miss Mabel and Mr Jud are crackin' up & jigglin' that belly ...and oooh this is how i feel...when you have a zany day like i had...you just gotta chuckle...all the while lookin' sweet in a farm dress...take a peek...

This is me this mornin' in my 30's farm dress...my idea was great for all i had to do...errands...tax day...soccer...dinner...ahhhhhhhhh a hustle and bustle day... super comfy...super cool...super sweet...

Well...................

Its was cold outside!!!!...nooooooo....spring is here...why oh why is it going to rain outside...so i put on a black sweater...and thought i'm gonna try this again...ahhhhhh nope! Not only is it cold but you forgot you have soccer this afternoon...in the wind...in the wet...in the grass...sigh*****

Soooooooo....




this is what that sweet lil' farm dress ended up as I remembered the way those 1950's mama's would send their darlin' daughters out to play ball with the neighbors! Yep in their sweet lil' dresses & their ol' ratty blue jeans ...and as you can see some very loved chucks... hmmmmm...what a day! You've just gotta roll with it...you know that's me! ha ha...

hey there sassy gals happy Friday to ya!...this here is another fun fact Friday that i couldn't believe until i tried it...ok this lil' family of mine loves pizza ! So when we order... i order alot! So what to do with the left overs honey? How do you warm it up and get it nice & crunchy again?...you warm it up in a fryin' pan on top the stove...It works...crunchy...so no microwave goowy'ness! Oh i just love it!...hee hee...give it a try!

Hello gals!...ok sassy kittens this Fun Fact Friday is a hoot...if you want your hair to be nice and shiny...all you've gotta do is add a small amount of Vodka to your shampoo bottle!...hmmm...take a lil' swig...& you'll be fillin' a lil' shiny yourself! hee hee... It will really give ya a lift! lol

Now another bath time goodie....Want a yummy bubble bath? And oh honey...you don't have any on hand & don't want to waist the expensive shampoo, sauced with Vodka!?...lol...shave a few slivers of your bar soap...place a draw string bag, cheese cloth, or sashe' baggy and hang under the water ...A insta bubble bath! Howdy sassy kittens...this is the second fun fact Friday! Yahoo...its kinda fun gals! Ok so does the water on top of cottage cheese gross you out!..easy fix...store cottage cheese upside down in your fridge it doesn't get all that water on top!

....hmmm well Cat what about in the sour cream?...easy kittens...take a spoon after you grab a dollop...and flatten it all out evenly before you put it back in the fridge...that will do the trick! in a snap...what a fun tip it really works!!!
