100 Years Ago: A Collection of Vintage Victorian Photographs

Written By Arman Zulhajar on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 | 11:00 AM

Really old vintage photos from the late 1800s are so beautiful and creepy at the same time. Here are some rather peculiar and lovely Victorian photographs I wanted to share with you. Guess which of these I find the creepiest? If you guessed the thin girl in the 5th photo, you're right! She looks downright scary!

Vintage Photo of the Day:

Written By Arman Zulhajar on Friday, September 2, 2011 | 9:00 AM

I adore the grey colored 1950s frocks these two ladies are wearing. I especially love the scalloped Bertha collar (is that technically a Bertha collar? Probably not, but it's what came to mind, so I'll just call it that) with the matching detail on her cuffed sleeves.

I wonder where they were going to? They're very modestly dressed so I am assuming perhaps they are going to Church?

The Fairy Tale Evoked Photos from the 1900s to the 1920s

I simply adore these vintage photographs from the 1900s to the 1920s of lovely women in pretty floaty things with shimmery fairy wings and dresses that ripple in the soft breeze. And I most especially love the photos of the women dancing in the forests, how fun, how fun would it have been!

I love vintage photographs and when I am at a flea market or antique mall I can never pass up the booth that has bins and bins of old photographs. Here are a few fantastic vintage photographs showcasing real life fashion and style from the 1940s and 1950s.

Original 1950s Vintage Fashion and Style Photographs

A picture is worth a thousand words, and the clothes they are wearing in the photos, they tell a story too. This first photo I love so very much, it's such an interesting and wonderful photo. A girl with her motorbike in the Grand Canyon. It could almost be a modern photo, look at that mini dress, her sandals, the bun in her hair. I find it so interesting she's wearing a dress of all things!

When choosing the vintage photographs I want to share with you, I always try to select photos that really capture moments as well as lovely fashion and style of years past. Which is your favorite picture?

Portraits of a Criminal, Vintage 1920s Portraits from the Sydney Police Archives

Written By Arman Zulhajar on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 | 9:34 AM

So in love with the melancholic grit of these 1920s archive photos from the Sydney Police Archives. Many of the photos are featured in a book by Peter Doyle entitled City of Shadows: Sydney Police Photographs 1912-1948. (Early birthday gift, pretty please?)
