My New Job (including goodies!).. ♥

Written By Arman Zulhajar on Sunday, October 30, 2011 | 1:04 PM

Today I started my training for my new job at Debenhams on the fragrance counter. Having previously worked as a fragrance specialist at Boots and Superdrug, I was expecting it to be all the same. However they actually gave me a bit of information on the perfumes and described the different scents and brands to me, rather than leaving me in an unknown world of colourful bottles. They also gave me a nice package of fragrances to take home in a nice Chanel carrier bag. Result!

I now look forward to properly starting work, and I am also highly looking forward to receiving my 20% discount card, which can be used on top of instore sales/reductions AND on Mega Day weekends when everyone can get an extra 20/25% off all products. Yipee! Looks like I will be buying myself a lot of perfume giftsets in the boxing day sales (50% off sale + 20% staff discount). Can't go wrong really. Hope my friends and family are looking forward to getting a load of Debenhams goodies this Christmas!

So heres what I was given today. 43 1.2ml fragrance samples. Most are pour femme but there are also a few pour homme samples in there. Should last me a while to get through them all!

Curls.. ♥

Written By Arman Zulhajar on Sunday, October 23, 2011 | 1:13 PM

Photo of me on holiday last week after I curled my hair with my Remington wand. I like it! And I never usually wear anything on my lips, but thought I'd give something bright a go! So I chose a red matte lip stain. What do you think? Excuse the bags under my eyes! lol

Darling how I miss you, Strawberries taste like lips do.. ♥

Written By Arman Zulhajar on Thursday, October 13, 2011 | 8:21 AM

Mmm, strawberries. So it seems like the pain of missing someone takes a hell of a long time to buggar off! My tears of upset have slowly turned into ones of frustration and despair at just not knowing what to do with myself. I just get the urge to pick up the phone and call that one person who would always want to talk to me, but I can't. Very frustrating, but something I have to get used to. I often find myself forgetting that I actually am single now, and I can't have those long 'talk about everything' chats and middle of the night texts. I get annoyed at myself because I keep picking up the phone to text or call, and then I remember there will be no one on the end of the line. Its not that the person has travelled to a far away place or anything though, they by choice do not want me contacting them. Which sucks.

Anyway, my point is that today I found out some news which is happy celebratory news, and I wanted that person to be the first to know so I go to tell them and then I cry because I realise theres no one there to tell, and they do not care anymore. But I still have that urge that I should be making them proud. Very frustrating! Arghhh.

Anyway the good news is that I have been accepted for another job :) Claires Accessories haven't got back to me yet, despite accepting me for that job. But I had an interview at Debenhams on Tuesday and they have called me back already to say they want me to join their team. Not only have I got myself a little job, it is also on the cosmetics counter!! Hehe :) I don't actually know very much about make up at all, I wear the same cheap products everyday, and I haven't changed my style since I was 13. But I think this job may open up a new little challenge for me to learn about something new and take an interest in it. I think I have been very lucky getting this job, although I actually expressed an interest in working on the fashion department, maybe she thought my face looked nicer than my clothes lol. Anyway it will also give me a new thing to blog about. I will hopefully get to find out about all the newest products and offers instore. Exciting! No doubt it will be hard work over Christmas, but being rushed off my feet is exactly what I need right now. A distraction, but also an interesting one. I'm really looking forward to starting.

Here is an amusing photo of me when I was 13, sporting the same 'cat eye' liquid eyeliner flick I still do every single day 8 years later! I need some new beauty skills desperatly.

Nice hoop earrings of 2003...
Eyeliner skill.. 8 years of practice. Gosh my hairline is weird.

Elegant Touch Flawless French Manicure Kit.. ♥

Written By Arman Zulhajar on Saturday, June 11, 2011 | 11:11 AM

Today I received an unexpected prize of four packs of Elegant Touch Flawless French Manicure Kits from Superdrugs Dare Magazine.

Yesterday I just so happen to have showed you my little French manicure that I done using a varnish kit from Poundland. Now, at the time I was very proud of this, but after seeing the results of this new product, that doesn't come anywhere close to be being as good as this!

This is the result of me using the Elegant Touch Flawless French Manicure Kit:
Notice how straight the white line tips are! My nails aren't even very long, but they instantly look longer and more glamorous. They are not actually extensions or false nails. They are totally my real nail, but the white is just an added tip. However, they don't add any length, you just glue them to the top of your natural finger nail.

The kit comes with 56 nail tips, brush superglue, a mini nail file, a base coat varnish and a top coat. This kit is so easy to use, and the base and top coat varnishes dry very quickly. The super glue is also really strong and long lasting, and they are expected to last for up to 7 days! They're available in 3 lengths, short, medium and long. I used the short tip. I have only been wearing them for a day so far, but I have washed my hair while wearing them with no problem. They haven't fallen off, peeled or come loose. Perfect solution for perfect french manicured nails at home.

"Elegant Touch have launched their new flawless French manicure kit, a professional, Parisian like result which can be done at home by yourself!"

The kit will cost £14.95, and there are enough nail tips in each pack for 4 applications. This product should be available from 20th June (I am excited to have been a first to try this!) and it is exclusively from Superdrug.

Here is a step by step guide on how to use this great new product (me doing it for my Mum!):
Mums fingernails before:

Put superglue onto the white tip and press against the nail

Remove plastic casing and the white tip should have stuck:

File down each nail so that the tip is smooth and the same length as your natural nail. Then coat with the base seal:

Then apply 2 coats of the top seal.. and ta da!! Perfect French manicured nails :)

I thoroughly recommend this product, and I suggest that when this goes on sale you try it out!

Its Friday.. ♥

Written By Arman Zulhajar on Friday, June 10, 2011 | 2:16 PM

The weekend is here.. yay :) This week I had my final uni exam. This means that I am now free from education FOREVER. I have spent 3 years at a uni in Birmingham studyinga BA Hons degree in Tourism Business Managment. And now its all gone so quickly, and now its time for me to graduate and get a real job.. boo :(

Anyway I also met up with a few of the other Disney castmembers on Tuesday which was lovely. We had a great meal at an Indian, and then drinks and the pub. Was a fab evening :) Can't wait to spend all summer with the lovelys!

And tomorrow I am going to meet my best friend for lunch at Pizza Hut! This will be the last time I see her until September, boo hoo. Then in October we're going to see Katy Perry! Yay! ♥

Here are a few tiny wins from this week :)

Jack Daniels BBQ Sauce Selection - yuk. I hate JD and I hate BBQ Sauce!

I love this :) Its a UJ purse from Sasse & Belle! Won it from their FB page.

So.. ? Spray. Smells a bit gross.

Here is my Magnus cat asleep on my bed last night.. aww :)

Todays cupcakes! With my handmade cases.

I have a really awful habit of chewing my fingernails right down, but I have been growing them for about 3 weeks, so now they are a bit longer :) I done a little French manicure earlier. Pretty .

And here is the set that I used for the manicure. The whole set cost only £1! From Poundland, and its really fab. The colours show so well, although they take a little while to dry. But I'm very pleased with the set :)

I also got this eyeliner from Poundland, its £4 in Boots :) Its such a pretty colour.

Also got this nail strengthener to help grow nails. Also £1.

Scandalous Hair Products..♥

Written By Arman Zulhajar on Monday, March 21, 2011 | 1:30 PM

A month or so ago the lovely people from Scandalous Hair sent me a lovely prize of a box of their hair products, after I entered one of their competitions. I have been gradually trying them all out and only last week did I try the amazing Intensely Glossy Rescue Treatment.
'This product is an instant solution. In just 30 seconds, the active conditioners will transform distressed locks into glossy perfection.'

I have very dry, course hair that goes a bit frizzy after all the heated styling it gets, and this made my hair feel lovely and soft and not at all greasy or heavy. It also smells lush too (as does the whole Scandalous range)! It is recommended that you use it no more than once or twice a week as it’s a temporary quick-fix and is not a replacement for your weekly repair treatment.

I will continue to use this product and also the dry shampoo is really good. It smells much nicer than Batiste and isn't as 'flakey'. I 100% recommend the Scandalous Hair range and give the Intensely Glossy Rescue Treatment 10/10.

You can buy the Scandalous Hair products at Superdrug now here.
(Currently only £3.49 on selected Scandalous WAS £5.49)
