The Importance of Having Humidifiers

Recently, there are already several and different types of humidifiers, but they all work by the same basic concept which is: " water is placed in a holding tank and electronically sent into the air". To blow water through a wick filter, cool mist humidifiers, also called evaporative humidifier are used as fan. After that, there is evaporation of cool mist of water into the air. The Warm mist humidifiers, will heat the water before sending it into the air. It is actually a matter of preference to have either cool mist or warm mist, yet we concede to the fact that warm mist units make less noise. The warm mist humidifiers are also being used in dispensing inhaled medications. The heating mechanism of the warm mist units kills the bacteria, hence, it does not require to have any filter. Moreover, the unit does not require you more energy just to heat the water. A person should take care of the unit when using warm mist humidifiers because, they can prevent the risk for burns. The cool mist humidifiers, may be preferred by the people in warmer climates, because they cool the air.

Also, the humidifiers vary size, water capacity, and area served. The tabletop humidifiers, or room humidifiers, are small in size and they are designed to be used in one room only. The availability of Tabletop models is seen in both cool mist and warm mist. To control the humidity of multiple rooms, we have the larger units called the console models. To determine its appropriateness for your space, you have to check the prescribed coverage area when buying a console humidifier. Well in fact, all the console humidifiers use the cool mist, or evaporative, technology. As the name suggests, Furnace humidifiers, are professionally installed in the furnace ducts and they are used to treat the entire house. Initially, the furnace humidifiers are more expensive, yet they will require less maintenance and are less expensive to operate annually..

Significantly, there is a need for you to clean and disinfect a humidifier regularly. The filters must be changed or cleaned that is based on the manufacturer's instruction. Mold, mildew, and bacteria, are the results if a person fails to follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer. Keep in mind that, the problems will be greater than the ones caused by dry air.

The humidistat is another important consideration when choosing a humidifier. Low humidity can cause dry nasal passages, while the growth of bacteria and mold is caused by high humidity. The humidity level is being controlled by the humidistat , at the same time, it keeps it within an acceptable range. Your home's humidity level can be measured using device called a hygrometer. Today, the Low-cost hygrometers are seen in most local hardware stores.

The dry winter air can wreak havoc on the body, and this could lead to a variety of cold and allergic symptoms to be experienced by the person. The dry air can also harm your paint and wood furniture. Well in fact, we cannot control the humidity level outdoors, but we can use humidifiers just to adjust the indoor humidity. Increasing the moisture, or humidity, in the air, is what humidifiers are designed at. In the home, humidifiers also reduce the static electricity thus, reducing the possibility of being "shocked". For best comfort and health, the humidity levels should be between 30 and 50 percent.
