Functionality is far from the only consideration in terms of kitchen design. The fact is that a lot of people focus on the kitchen when they try to design parts of the house to make a big impression in an aesthetic sense. It is a priority because it is used so regularly and kitchen designers certainly recognise this quality.

It is nice to proud of your kitchen and to show it off when people come round. It is all well and good knowing that your kitchen is really practical and enables you to do all the things you need to do in there but there is much more to be said for a kitchen that you really love because it looks stunning. Colour is a big part of this.

You will find all sorts of worktops, kitchen cabinets, wall tiles and floor tiles with stunning finishes designed to make the kitchen pack more of a stylish impact. Colour is an important part of this because it often contributes to how lively and modern your kitchen looks.

There are plenty of colours that are capable of making a difference to the design of your kitchen in a positive way but red is certainly one that stands out. It stands out precisely because it is modern, warm and rich - all qualities that are important. Versatility is something associated with red too.

Red is a favourite colour of kitchen designers and a whole host of components for the kitchen can be found in red. One great tactic is to use red bar stools alongside a nice breakfast bar to inject some colour and bring the space to life.

Of course, there is always the risk that too much red in the kitchen will become overwhelming so you must exercise a bit of restraint to make sure that the red aspects of the kitchen are paired up with more neutral features in black and white. It is important retain the right balance so that the overall effect is appealing.
