The Benefits Of Holidays In England

With more and more people looking to save money, holidays in England are becoming an attractive option for many. Despite the fact that England is very small compared with most major countries in the world, there is no shortage of places to go and sites to see. The coastal areas, cities and rural areas of England have a lot to offer.

It is easy and fast to move around the country, meaning that the next place of interest is never more than three or four hours drive away. There is also a large rail network that spans the length and breadth of England. Because multiple locations can be explored during one holiday, the popularity of these trips in increasing.

There are several ancient cities to explore around the country, the most notable of which is the capital, London. This is one of the world's largest cities, however the vast majority of tourist attractions can be found within only a few miles of each other. These journeys rarely take over thirty minutes by tube or taxi.

The major cities of Birmingham and Manchester are also brimming with night-life and history. However, for those looking for a sight-seeing holiday, ancient cities like York, Bath and Chester may well be worth a visit. These cities have been existence for well over 2,000 years and include many ancient Roman and Viking buildings and artifacts.

As well as the more obvious urban locations, the English countryside has a huge amount to offer. The National Parks of the UK offer protection from aggressive development to large parts of rural England. This allows people to explore this stunning countryside freely and without hindrance.

Despite all of the recent interest in holidays all around the UK, nowhere has seen a larger increase in visitor numbers than the traditional seaside villages and towns of the English coast. Place like Blackpool, Margate and Southend have all reported increased tourist numbers in recent years. These towns offer a multitude of activities for all age ranges.
