Pure is always good because this means that something is clean and unadulterated. This is the reason why we would find out ways to make the air we breathe and the water we drink, pure. There are many ways to remove impurities from the air that we breathe and the water we drink. The process usually takes so ling to finish because we also make sure that it is effective.

If the process takes time to finish, then that process would surely be effective. However, there are other methods of purification which can quickly remove water impurities. Carbon is a safe and effective method of removing impurities from gas and water.

Carbon is actually charcoal, the one that we use for broiling steaks and barbecue. However, what we use for carbon filtering, is activated carbon filter. The charcoal is activated by introducing oxygen into the material, which creates tiny holes in the surface. If the activated carbon filter is placed into the water jug, it will absorb impurities such as chlorine which is often contained in the water.

However, after chlorine is bonded to it, it cannot anymore absorb any more of the impurities, thus it has to be taken out and replaced. A bag filter is used to seek out bad odors from the air and remove it. Carbon if effective in removing impurities both from the air and water.

Air conditioners also has carbon filters. Mothers who always watch shows presenting tips on household, also use carbon, or just ordinary charcoal to rid the refrigerator of awful smells created by the mixture of vegetables, meats and fish. This can also remove the smell created by rotting milk and other food that we forget to take out from the refrigerator. Cooking is not the only use that we have for charcoal.
