The way that you eliminate bed bugs sounds simple, so some people are under the mistaken impression that it is easy. All you have to do is clean everywhere in a room that is infested and you should get rid of them. However this is going to be no ordinary cleaning regime as you have to get in to any little gap to make sure you get them all.

The Best Way to Eradicated Bedbugs

If you are concerned about getting rid of the bed bugs in your room as soon as possible then what you should really do is call on the expertise of pest control professionals. They'll have the necessary experience to to the job quickly and you also have the best chance that the attempt will be successful.

Before you do anything else, the first thing to do is get rid of the rubbish in the room. If you have a clutter in the room then that just means that there are going to be lots of places for the bedbugs to hide. By throwing the rubbish away then not only will you be getting rid of those hiding places, but also any bedbugs that are hiding there.

When that has been done, and you've taken the rubbish outside, it's time to vacuum. They wouldn't usually hide in the open part of the carpet but they might have fallen off some of the clutter as you were clearing it away. You should pay particular attention to the edges though, sprinkling some Diatomaceous Earth there to make sure you don't miss any.

After you have finished the vacuuming the next thing to do is make it easier to clean everywhere else by removing as many portable items as possible. So for example DVDs, CDs, books, and anything else like that. You will have to clean each one of them individually first though of course to make sure that you are not going to spread the infestation around.

At this point then you should only be left with the larger items such as chests of drawers, wardrobes, and of course the bed or beds. When cleaning these you have to pay particular attention to the very tiny gaps. Try to clean them with a cloth first of all, but if there are any places that is not working with, again you should use the Diatomaceous Earth.

One of the last things to approach is the bed, and this will require quite a lot of special attention. The bedding should have already been removed, and washed. The mattress you are also going to have to clean thoroughly, not just vacuuming it but steam cleaning it as well if that is possible.

After that you should come to the bed frame. Now, most bed frames have to be constructed and so there will be joints that you have to deal with. If you are going to get inside those joints then the first thing that you are going to have to do is take it apart. Then you should be able to clean the whole thing.

How to Avoid an Infestation

When you have done all of that it is finally going to be time to bring a few things back in, such as the bedding. If you've been lucky then you will have eradicated the infestation. People inexperienced in it often require more than one attempt to get them all, which is one of the reasons why it's preferable to use pest control experts instead.

Once the infestation has, finally, been eradicated though, all you are going to have to worry about is not picking up an infestation. That usually happens when you go travelling as hotels tend to be a hot bed for them since people can bring them in then leave them behind. So before staying in a hotel room, check it over for bed bugs first if you want to be safe.
