Now on with our previously scheduled post...Answers answers I've got some MORE answers...part 2...let jump and jive...

ok so i had a lot of questions about the dresses them selves...so here goes

miss sweet Maggi asks...thanks Cat for doing this! Theres some great questions already asked, what shall i add?...Hmmm wait, that wasn't my question...okay # 1. How many vintage dresses do you own? # 2.If you could visit one of your favorite vintage icons who would it be? # 3.And Aside from agreeing with living the values of the 40's 50's, what else draws you to the time period?

oooh i love each of these questions very much! ok how many vintage dresses do i have...well...its complicated...ok real Vintage from the 30's 40's and 50's...ummmm 97 at this time...yep...really! From the 60's with 50's polka dots and styled...about 12...and newly revamped everyday kinda rockabilly styled...24 which i bought thought the years for easy errand running and soccer games...now i have a small closet of ones that don't fit or are in need of repair...

# 2. If i could visit any one who is an vintage icon...i would be honest and say...Lucy! yup i would! why because i would love the whole experience...i would laugh historically, go dress shopping, get to go to an amazing nightclub, and get into a whole lot of mischief !!! thats a purrrrrfect day in my book!!!

#3 First and most...its the clothes!!! I adore wearin' the fashion... i am comfortable, sassy, lady like, and i love the whole cute aspect...i get so excited when i find a vintage dress with adorable "cut-sy" details like...polka dots, checks, bows, ric-rac, or yummy fruit! I truly get giddy!!! I do!

Porcelina aks which of your vintage outfits is your favorite? oh kitten as probably with yourself that is a hard question...i love so many...so so so many! but as you take a peek at this post these are a few of my favorites...this one above is one...this green polka dot 40's farm dress... eBay find brand new never worn...ahhh pure delight...

but yet again...there is this one...soooo comfy...you gals have seen me wear it probably most...i love a zipper front dress...this adorable 40's dress was one of those omg moments when i couldn't believe i found it and that it fit!!!!! It's sound and cool...i wear it a lot!

but yet.........there is this one...this one is a find of a life time...early on i found this dream and i don't think i will ever get rid of it!!! This red bandanna dream is lined for yummy twirlin, it has a side metal zipper which i adore because it snuggs the top and flatters me...and then it has a western rockabilly flare...that i adore! This dress is very very rare...and in my size oh howdy gals a keeper!

But for sentimental reasons this one is a favorite...this really odd dress is one that is close to my heart...this is a dress Daddy-o bought for me! He adores it! It is a sort of Hawaiian tikki 50's sundress...it has wonderful flowers on top and a under lining of large polka dots in brown orange and yellow tones...overlay with a creamy eyelet! Large circle skirt and low in the back to show off my tattoos...he loves this dress! He bought it one year in Viva...he wanted me to wear it so bad ...that he hand washed it in the tub in the hotel...line dried it with some help of a blow dryer & ironed it! It was a cute memory!

But to be very very honest...an ol' black eyelet dress is this gals very very favorite...it is a gals best friend...so the first picture of this post is my very first Viva find 10 years ago...i bought and still wear it today...i change it with vintage pins...and different vintage necklaces! i adore it...a gals favorite!

Michelle says what i really admire about you is your courage to be yourself, your kindness( it comes through in your posts) and how i can tell you feel good about yourself and your family as well as your creativity. Was this the influence of your mama or dad or did you have to find your own way in life?

Wow! I loved this...why because it is so kind hearted...and it is the very me that makes me! Thank you for saying the kind words...i do feel good...i love the me i am...and i adore what my family is and stand for...thank you Michelle...now the question part...

My vintage influence for family was not of my parents...Daddy-o and i come from very very different types of families than what we pride ourselves in now...my parents worked a lot and had no time for family time. Daddy-o comes from a type of family that is just not close in many ways

...So we made sure that it would be our goal to raise this family close, simple, and with the lifestyle of yester years! We adore our girls and desired a life for them that is far different from our child hood! That is why finding our own way, has been such a huge part of who we are...we are so "goo-goo" over our girls! And find pride in our own way of life!

Ally jo & a anonymous...i love your blog. I love the way you dress and was wondering where you get your clothes...are they clothes or patterns? Where do you get your images? Cat when you post a pic of a dress it looks so small, but are they your size? Do you alter them? Do you find them in your size?

Thanks gals...i had a lot of questions like this...here goes...my dresses i find in many places...i always say i'm on the hunt...well it's true...i hunt a lot! I search eBay...i vintage dress shops all over California...and i do hit flea markets..which is my favorite way!

I can' t sew a lick...that is the bummer about my life...i wish i could sew myself vintage dresses from vintage patterns...but hmmmmmm I can't!!! I am so envious of all you dames who can...jealousy and envy are my name when i see you gals who can sew! you are lucky kittens!

my images...ahhh i am so glad to get to answer this question..they are mine!!! I collect adorable wonderful vintage magazines! My favorite is better homes and gardens from the 50's...you can pick them up at yard sales and flea markets...for a few bucks...i take photos or scan them crop them and use them...i do have a few old 40's dream ones as well...they have the best photos of moms of that era! try and find a few!!!!!

when i post a dress i buy from eBay or a vintage site it is my size!...they often pin them to their mannequins...i often find them to fit! Although i do get a few that don't which makes me sad.

I always get the bust, waist, and hip measurements and make sure that those are larger than my own. That is how to make sure it will fit you...

I do not alter because i don't know how...i wish i could. I saw one fab kitten take apart a dress and make a shirt that would fit...i wish i could soooo do that...but i'm challenged!

Try to not look at a size listed on a dress...because vintage sizing is much smaller from the 40's and 50's...always measure yourself and ask for those measurement of the bust straight across pit to pit...them double for the full measurement! This will do the trick!

So kittens we can do it...you can do it...get yourself out there and do it! Find a sweet sassy lil' number thats you and fits!!! Keep a tape measure in your purse so you can measure a dress you stumble upon...and get into the hunt! It really is fun...and when you score a sassy lil' number it's like winning the lottery!! hee hee

Thanks for all the questions...your sweet comments on my blog about my lil' baby chic...and all the lovely blog love...have a rocken day...Cat~
